Sharing Sure Petcare data with your dog sitter

Sure Petcare’s connected range of pet products store data on your pet’s activity, behaviour and feeding, which can be useful to your dog sitter whilst you are away from home.

Connected door and feeder

The Sure Petcare app links to the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door Connect and the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect via a Hub. The pet door records when a pet enters or leaves through the flap and the feeder enables accurate portions to be served and records how much and when a dog eats. Both products are suitable for small dogs.

When you are on holiday, you can view the data in the Sure Petcare app to give you peace of mind while you are away. But you can also give your dog sitter access to the app to help them to better care for your pet in your absence.

Animo

Animo is an activity and behaviour monitor which links to the Sure Petcare – Animo app. It is suitable for dogs of all sizes and records how active your dog is each day, allows goals to be set, measures calorie burn and highlights changes in sleep quality, barking, scratching or shaking.

Animo must be synced in order for you to see the data in the Sure Petcare – Animo app. So, if you give your dog sitter access to sync Animo while you are away, you can keep track of what your dog gets up to and your dog sitter can give your dog an extra level of care by viewing your dog’s normal daily routines.

Your dog’s routine

If you use a dog sitter or a service like TrustedHousesitters, Animo can help your dog sitter to stick to your dog’s usual routine. If you set your dog daily activity goals using Animo, the dog sitter can try to meet these goals whilst they are caring for your pet to ensure they get the right level of exercise.

Once given access, your dog sitter can also look at historical data in the app to find out your dog’s normal sleeping patterns and how much they usually bark, scratch or shake. If your dog sitter notices any changes in these behaviours, they can investigate straight away, as changes could be an indication of illness or distress.

Changes in your dog’s eating habits could be an indication of illness, so if your dog sitter can see your dog’s normal feeding patterns in the Sure Petcare app, this can help them to notice changes as soon as they occur.

Veterinary care

If your dog needs to see a vet whilst they are in the care of your dog sitter, it can be useful for the dog sitter to have access to the Sure Petcare app or the Sure Petcare – Animo app so that they can show any changes in your dog’s activity, behaviour or feeding to the vet to help your dog to get the right care. Before you go away, leave the details of your dog’s vet with your dog sitter so that they know who to contact if your pet needs help.
