The purrfect solution for outdoor-loving cats

Tomasz has been a longstanding Sure Petcare customer since September 2010. As part of our 10th Anniversary celebrations, we caught up with him to find out more about how our SureFlap Microchip Cat Door has helped his household.
Can you tell us a bit about the cats you have owned since you became a Sure Petcare customer?
Rudy, which means ‘ginger’ in Polish, was born in 1996 and captured as a wild, 4-month-old kitty. He was the son of an outdoor cat living in our neighbourhood in the eastern suburbs of Warsaw, Poland. He was an outdoor, sterilised cat. He was smart, but a big coward. For example, he knew how to turn on a light by jumping up to the switch or by pulling the string as he didn’t like to sleep in the dark. When he became an old cat, he began to snore loudly, in addition, he would sleep hidden in a closet, so, imagine a wardrobe that snores!
Monstrous was born on the 8th May 2013 in a small village near Warsaw. He was the cutest kitten in the litter. My wife saw him advertised and decided to rehome him. He is an outdoor, sterilised cat and a supreme mouse hunter. He thinks he is a human being and unlike Rudy, he is very brave.
How has the product helped you? What problem has it solved?
Rudy mainly lived outdoors. He had his ‘buffet’ in the closed porch, with a simple cat flap installed.
Unfortunately, all the neighbourhood cats also used his ‘buffet’ and spray marked the inside of the porch. The SureFlap Microchip Cat Door kept them out. There are many cats in our current neighbourhood in Normandy, France, so the Microchip Cat Door now protects our home from uninvited cat visitors.
Have you recommended any of our products to friends or family?
I recommended and installed your products (mainly Microchip Cat Doors – 14 units, and one Microchip Pet Door) to my customers as I began to install the doors in December 2014 as a part of my business, which closed last year.
Why did you recommend our products?
I recommended the Sure Petcare products because I love their:
- Aesthetic design
- Mechanical simplicity (fewer complicated parts = fewer possible problems)
- Low power consumption
- Wind protection - I always recommended a Microchip Cat Door to my customers in case the product was going to be installed in a place exposed to strong winds. (I installed cat doors in Warsaw, where many people live in high buildings, where stray animals are not a problem, but strong winds are).
- Extraordinary aftersales customer service – It was very important to me, as a craftsman who was selling and installing a product, that in the event of a product failure, I would not incur any additional costs or visits to the customer.

Have you ever contacted our customer care team and if so, why did you contact us and what did you think of the service you received?
I contacted your fabulous customer care team three times, twice due to an issue with my own cat door and once to help one of my customers. I really like your company’s attitude towards understanding and resolving a customer's problem.
Last year the cat flap stopped working so customer service sent me a new front panel. It didn’t solve the problem, so I was offered a new Microchip Cat Door for half price. I purchased it and replaced the old one, but I’m an engineer and a curious person so I dismantled the old unit and finally found that the problem was caused by a build-up of dust. After cleaning the inner parts of the cat door, it started working again.
