Giving cats different cat flap access permissions
10th February 2020
If you live with more than one cat, there may be times when you want to keep some of your cats indoors, whilst giving your other cats free access to the outdoors.
The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap Connect and the SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Flap will enable you to achieve this.
With the DualScan technology, you can set different permissions for each cat. This cat flap will read a cat’s microchip when they come into the house and when they go out. So you can choose which cats are allowed outside.
The cat flaps are perfect for:
- Elderly or disabled cats that need to be permanently kept indoors.
- Newly rehomed kittens that need to be kept indoors for the first few weeks.
- Keeping cats indoors for a period of time following a vet visit.
- Giving cats that are allowed outdoors the freedom to explore whilst preventing other neighbouring cats gaining access to the home.
If you are only keeping certain cats indoors temporarily, you can change the permissions at any time.
Worried about indoor-only cats escaping out an open window or door? The safety learn mode can be used to allow indoor-only cats to get back into the house if they escape.
