Alternative uses for the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap
17th October 2019
The SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap has been designed to be installed in an external door, wall or window to keep intruder animals out of the home, but did you know that it can be used in other ways too?
Litter box
If you have a dog or a small child that is drawn to your cat’s litter tray, you might have a need to create an enclosed litter box so that other members of the household can’t make a mess and your cat can go to the toilet in peace. Install the Microchip Cat Flap in a large plastic crate or box so that your cat can have exclusive access to their tray. If you have multiple cats, you could make one for each cat so that they can each go to the toilet in private.
Internal door or wall
There are many reasons that you might want to give your cat access to an area of the house that you don’t want to give other pets or children access to. If you have more than one cat and one of your cats is timid, you can give them privacy when they are toileting, eating, drinking or sleeping by placing their resources in a separate room and installing a Microchip Cat Flap in the door or wall leading into that room so that they have their own private space away from other members of the household.
Garden shelter
Many cats like the freedom of the outdoors. Give them their own sheltered space in the garden in the form of a garden shelter designed specifically for them. If you have a busy household, this can be a great place for your cat to retreat to for some quiet time. Install a Microchip Cat Flap in the shelter so that no other animals can access it and to create a safe haven for them.
